Development projects -> Overview
- Development projects
- The CID-Ghana Development projects aim to support the development of northern Ghana by helping locals carry through changes that they think are needed to improve life in their area.
CID structure and sponsor the projects that are focused on education, water supply, women empowerment, micro credit loans and capacity building training. This is made possible by funds from private donors as well as companies and other organizations.
Procedure
An idea of a project is presented to CID who evaluates it and decides if and what support can be given. Subsequently a project proposal is written by CID and submitted to possible sponsors. The community members are involved from the beginning through a local committee and stand for 20 % of the costs to undertake the project; this is often paid through labour. The community and local committee will later take over the full responsibility of the project.
