Shea Butter project ready to launch CID Ghana is very proud to announce that the Shea Butter Project is fully founded. The Shea Butter Project has been supported by ASN Bank, Wereldwinkel Amersfoort, St. Anthony Foundation and a Probus branch in Spain.
The CID Ghana Shea Butter Project is all about organizing and professionalizing local craftsmen: the women of the communities in the North of Ghana. By means of education and development these women are taught to manufacture high quality Shea butter products. CID Ghana shows these women the necessity of joining forces to become an equal trading partner for the Tungteiya Sheabutter Association, which will create access to a full-grown market.
With this project CID Ghana aims at providing these women a chance to become financially independent. This is an important requirement when securing a promising future for these local communities. Mothers can send their kids to school, pay for proper healthcare and are enabled to contribute bottom-up to the development of their own habitat.
To keep up the good work CID Ghana is now working on launching five similar groups in the upper east of Ghana. Can we count on you or your network? Or interested in making a donation to CID Ghana? Please feel free to contact Ieteke Bos with any questions or suggestions you might have (ieteke@cidghana.org, nederland.cidghana.org).
