Questions to Kotingly Community member

    1. What difference will this water project do in this village?

Having the project completed will be useful to providing us with clean water that will be free of guinea-worm and other water related diseases hitherto suffered.

    1. What were the problems caused by inadequate access to water?

We used to walk several kilometers for water and this posed problem of spending the bulk of our time living little man-hours available for other works. The situation affected immensely our personal hygiene as other competitive uses of water left us with little options to washing ourselves; children used to go to school without having their bathe and been in dirty clothes all day. We had the problem of getting water for our construction works in the dry season [no rains] and having to use local materials –mud-buildings is highly impossible in the rainy season. With couple of deepening carried out in the dam, we can now use the entire rainy season wholly devoted to farming activities and dry season for the building [housing] works.

    1. How do you cooperate with CID?

The community has a committee that sees to all dealings with CID in consultation with the Chief and Elders.

    1. What do the people do to make the project successful?

The committee informs the chief about the progress of activities that require participation of the larger public and by this; people are easily mobilized to contribute to fulfilling the task for possible project success.

    1. How many Families are there in this village?

There are 110 house-holds in this community totaling 1,126 people
